Five for Friday

Happy Five for Friday!

Construction - I am definitely feeling deja vu.  I thought I was done with the construction...at least until the new windows arrive.  Apparently the construction crew thought differently.  This time the work was done on finishing touches outside my window.  I definitely love listening to the beeping sound of the scaffolding going up and down, drilling, hammering, etc.  The bulk of activity was done each time I tried to teach rounding.  It was like they waited for the exact moment for the lesson to begin each day.Is rounding really that bad? (Answer - Yes it is!)

My mantra was "Just think about how nice this will look when they are completely done!"

Morning Meeting - My new favorite time of the day.  I have never had morning meeting time until this year.  I am glad I decided to incorporate it into the schedule.  It takes only 10 minutes but we work on phonemic awareness, following directions, Word Wall words, go through schedule changes and enjoy social activities.  It's a great way to start the day.

Caught Up - Woo-hoo!  I am finally caught up with my grading and entering my grades into the computer.  This may be the only time this year that happens, so I have to brag!

Testing - We finished the beginning of the year testing.  Yes!  Now I can actually focus on teaching! What a crazy idea!

New Bookshelf - I "love" my new bookshelf that my dad for me.  Apparently, Lemur loves it too! Now I need to decide what to put on the shelves.
