Beat the Teacher

Another strategy I will use from time to time is Beat the Teacher.  Beat the Teacher is a point system that you can use to help control student behavior.  You put a t-chart on the board with your name and the students.  You give points throughout the day depending on the behavior of the students.  If the kids win, you give them a little prize.  It's something to pull out of your bag of tricks when needed.
