Whisper Phone

Some students, no matter their age, still need to hear themselves read.  This can be very distracting to the students that do not need it.  Whisper phones solve this problem.  You can buy them in the store for $5 or more or easily make them yourself (or if you are lucky, have your dad make them!) for less than half that price.  The above picture shows my whisper phones.  They are made from 2 - 1 1/2 inch elbow joints (?).  That's  it.  Just fit them together.  No gluing (unless you want a more permanent fit).  Not gluing makes it easier to clean them.  My students love these, and I love how readers that need to read aloud have that option!
