How do you level your books? I have heard many different ways to level a classroom library. There is no one correct way to do this. I personally level all of my books with Accelerated Books. I do this because we use AR in our school. It shows the book level with the grade and month. For example, a 3.2 grade level is a third grade in the second month level book. The website for this is http://www.arbookfind.com/UserType.aspx. Inside each book, I write the book level, quiz number, and the number of points that can be earned. I must admit, this is a time consuming process. It was a summer project a few years ago. I was also lucky to have my mom's help in getting all the books library ready.
This was only my first step in creating my classroom library. Stay tuned for more steps. Don't get overwhelmed either. Yes, this is a time consuming process. The only way to stay less stressed is to focus on one thing at a time. Never try to complete everything at the same time!
